Zulu international is a registered entertainment company owned by a group of 7 persons. The Band Zulu International was founded by and majority owned by Trinidadian Lauren Austin and her husband Ryan Austin. Other Directors/part owners are Rondell Jones, Jarrod Elias, Christopher Barnett (Barbados), Sheldon Ali and Daryl Kun How (Trinidad).
Lauren, a makeup artist and costume designer by trade was the engineer behind the building of Zulu. Starting out as just a section in another band back in 2012, (Zulu warriors) the journey began . The response was fantastic and the section sold out within days. Lauren’s design and costume landed on the front page of the official Barbados Crop Over magazine. Based on the positive feed back and the Austins eagerness to expand and create a premium, fun, party experience, Zulu International was formed.

In 2013 Zulu International entered the Mas band arena with the theme “Spartacus” based on the popular Stars original TV series. Not only did they do well but all 6 sections were completely sold out and the road experience was given rave reviews.  The highlight of the Zulu season was the presence of Mega recording artist Rihanna who masqueraded all day in Zulu international wearing a beautiful individual costume designed by Lauren. That said costume and Rihanna landed on the front page of the official Barbados Crop Over magazine for the 2nd straight year.

Moving on to 2014 , The anticipation was high as patrons were eager to see what team Zulu would come with next. Zulu left the bloody sands of the Spartacus arena to enter a fair tale as they presented “Once upon a time”. In one of the biggest launch parties ever in the history of Crop Over, Lauren’s designs yet again dazzled the large crowd as the costumes graced the stage. Needless to say the response was fantastic. Though Zulu increased the amount of masqueraders, the band was completely sold out within 3 days noting the first 1.5 days were exclusively for 2013 revelers to sign up. Powered by fantastic sponsors and a presentation that includes premium drinks and snacks on the road etc, Zulu is expected to deliver once again to its rapidly expanding Zulu Nation
